On 24 November we celebrate the 3 year anniversary of UGCE – the University of Groningen Centre of Entrepreneurship, and would like to warmly invite you to the special VentureClass: Entrepreneurship in Networks, given by Ton Vries, CEO of Syncom. Syncom, a RUG spin-off from 1988, is today a global leader in customized synthesis solutions for pharma and biotech. How can a university start-up raise to a global level, and how can networking help in this – these will be the main questions discussed during the evening.
The festive evening will be opened by Aard Groen, Dean of Entrepreneurship, and Jan de Jeu, Vice President of the Board of the University.

Ton Vries has been Syncom’s CEO since 2000 when he succeeded Prof. Hans Wynberg, founder of Syncom. Since 1991 Ton has worked in various roles of increasing responsibility in Syncom as Research Chemist, Group Leader and Director of Research. He has been involved in many different aspects of Syncom business including scientific development, chiral technologies, business development and business strategy.
Ton obtained his MSc in 1988 and received his PhD in Organic Chemistry in the field of chiral resolutions in 1996 from the University of Groningen, The Netherlands.

The company has an excellent track record dating back to the foundation of the company in 1988.
