And other Non-Traditional Advice…

Topic

Students and other people often have this stereotypical image of what life is like for an entrepreneur (working 24/7), what you need to have in place before you can start a business (a college degree, finance, …) or what a successful company looks like (high-tech, Facebook potential, …). Yet it can be so different, if you let go of these views and become fearless.

Paula Englis shares the surprising stories of five real-life cases, to demonstrate that work-life balance can be tailor-made, that you can start before you graduate-whatever comes first, and funding can be on your terms with your control if you are patient.

Speaker Profile

Dr. Paula Danskin Englis leads the Berry College Entrepreneurial Program. Paula’s primary areas are strategy and entrepreneurship. She teaches, researches and consults in the areas of strategy, knowledge intensive entrepreneurship, and knowledge management. She works closely with current and former students and others to help them start and grow their businesses. She has worked with firms in a number of high tech industries in their the start-up and/or growth process. A few examples: Dynamix, Shootproof.com, studyhubb, Baked Joy, African SOUP, and AMBEDO. Besides her work at Berry College, Paula is affiliated with the Dutch Institute for Knowledge Intensive Entrepreneurship (NIKOS) at the University of Twente and the University of Groningen Centre of Entrepreneurship (UCGE).
